Rederi AB Göta Canal's three classic canal boats travel on one of the world's most beautiful and breathtaking waterways - the Göta Canal, which connects Stockholm with Gothenburg through over 60 locks. We offer exclusive cruises with full board and guided excursions.

As these are old boats, the ceiling height is limited to 185 cm in several places on board.

We therefore expect you to have:

• Valid Basic Safety according to STCW Manila
• A strong safety mindset, attentive and responsive to situations that arise on board
• Relevant vessel experience
• Experience in deck service
• Vessel maintenance
• High stress tolerance and good planning skills
• Valid medical certificate for seafarers

Working at sea involves great responsibility as you will be part of the safety crew. It is important that you have good knowledge of Swedish, which is the safety language on board, as well as English since most of our guests visit us from abroad. German and other language skills are highly meritorious.

As a Deckhand/Cabin Steward, you are responsible for cleaning cabins and WC/shower and ensuring that guests have what they need. The position also includes responsibility for laundry inventory and ordering laundry. Additionally, you will work on deck alongside the sailor, where lock operations are a central part of deck duties. You are therefore accustomed to handling ropes and moving naturally on board. You are a jack-of-all-trades and step in where needed.
